Anne is a Research Manager. Originally from Berlin Anne has live in London for the past 2 and a half years. She told me that her style is heavily influenced by her Berlin roots, with its liberalism, vintage and hippy vibe. Anne describes herself as an artist and says she has been so since she stated to walk. This crosses over into the way she dresses saying that she see how she dresses every day as a little piece of art, it is her way of expressing herself. Allowing personal freedom and self fulfillment. I had never thought of fashion in these terms before and it certainly is food for thought. Anne's favourite place in London is Shoreditch and in Berlin is all of East Berlin and especially Kreuzkoeln.
She is wearing at top by Thu Thu who is a friend of hers, a Zara skirt, Office ankle boots and her doctors bag is from her Mum who is a Doctor.

Laura is a marketing assistant for YSL. She works on the beauty side of things and recently worked on the launch of the Touche Eclat foundation. Laura says the best parts of her job are organising events and getting to  meet the YSL international make-up artists. Her prediction for trends for the coming season are forest colours, think rainforest. So lush, deep and emerald greens, marine blues and purples.

2012 Fall Makeup Trends

2012 Fall Makeup is all about bold rich red lips.  Reds in any shades on the lips deliver a strong facial expression and promise a total drama.  As you may already know, oxblood is the color of this fall, so why not pair your lips with the same colored skinny jeans, dresses or pleated flowy skirts?

As for the eyes, graphic eyeliners and rich brown smoky eyes are going to be my to go makeup.

Which trend are you planning on adapting this fall?

Trend Alert: Statement Earrings

This is one of the newcomer trends, which is kind of difficult to encorporate to your daily life.  Of course, this is my opinion and there may be some of you out there who are brave enough to rock it in the office or just can wear anything to anywhere with comfort.  I’m not “chuckles” :)

So, how to wear these earrings? Practically with anything! Either to a night out with your friends or your boyfriend/husband, to a fancy brunch or luncheon with little black dresses, flare jeans and a loose top, maxi skirts with a fitted or loose top, asymmetrical skirts, etc. You can also go for a rock chich look with some coated black or maroon skinny jeans and a fitted leather jacket with the coolest biker boots.  Anything your precious little hearts’ desire!

So here are my picks for the statement earrings trend:

these are quite a statement! :)

Sofia has a 1/2 Greek and 1/2 Spanish background and is a fashion buyer, she has certainly pulled her own look together very well. I love the military and feminine mix. In fact Sofia says she loves femininity in fashion and said that "girls should always wear dresses". Heels too but flats are OK if you have to walk a long way. She also loves the 60's era, classic women and Kelly Brooke. Sofia likes to travel and recently went to Bali which she says is the most beautiful place she has been to yet. On life and travel she said "I think it is important for people to find their sanctuary. And you can only do that out of your comfort zone." In London Sofia's favourite place is Covent Garden. Here she is wearing a coat she bought online. Topshop dress, Forever 21 shoes and is carrying a Louis Vuitton bag.

When I first saw Aline apart from seeing her great colourful, patterned trousers I also thought she was French. So it was interesting to find out once we started talking that what I was seeing was her mother in her, as she is 1/2 French from her mothers side. Style wise she likes the effortless chic the French have and she describes her own style as casual, comfortable chic, quite relaxed. Aline is a copywriter for Fab UK her is a link to their site and their blog. She travels every day from Brighton to work in London. Favourite places in London are Leather Lane and Camden and her favourite place in Brighton is the sea. Aline's surprise for us was that she has climbed the 2nd highest mountain in the world K2 in flip flops because her boots were hurting too much. Respect. She is wearing a Topshop top, River Island trousers, sandals she bought in Sydney. The leaf on her necklace was a present from her Mum which she put on a different chain and her bag is from Greece.

Beautiful Valencia

Me and my husband went on a summer vacation in Valencia, Spain at the beginning of this month.  Loved everything about it. Such a nice city, nice people and environment.  certainly a very fun experience. I love Spanish. People were always very helpful, and we didn’t experience anything bad.  Especially, if you live in a huge city like Istanbul, a calm and small city like Valencia is just perfection.  Everyday we spent some quality time at the beach.  Every morning we took long walks on the sandy Valencian city beach Playa La Malvarrosa followed by refreshing swims in the sea, followed by delicious lunch at the coastal area.  Then we did what Spaniards do after lunch: Siesta! It was great. After siesta time, we would head back to the beach and walked a long rout, followed by swimming.  A few times, we went to the Old Town, the city center, and the amazing Ciudad de las Artes y Ciencias.  Incredible architecture.  I got to practice my Spanish a lot. I can almost say, that I didn’t have to speak English at all.  That was such a fun experience.  I just love Spanish. I won't post many photos, but here are a couple:

2012 Fall Fashion Trends

The last 4 days of summer.  Although the weather may not seem like it, we’ll be officially in Fall.  Here in Istanbul, we’re having pretty hot and humid days.  It’s a real killer.  The fashion trends for the upcoming Fall though, are pretty exciting!  I almost want the weather to get cooler and cooler, and wear all those new exciting clothes! Fabulous trench coats, jackets, blazers, subtle animal prints, corduroy flares...  Firstly, I want to say how Kate Moss is the coolest fashion icon of our times.  Although she may be getting older and maybe she needs some touch ups with photoshop, she still looks pretty amazing.  Don’t these shoots from Mango say so?

OK. Now I’d like to mention some of my favorite fashion trends for the Fall.

Military Trend:
I must say, that I don’t like camouflage design on women’s clothes. But I like the military green hues and the other details on clothes.  And you don’t even have to buy something new to get this trend.  You can update your somewhat old coat or blazer with some new military looking buttons and voila! You’ve got a whole new piece for your wardrobe. However, if you want to get something new, there are lots of choices you can pick from.  I’m currently in love with this bright electric blue blazer with military trends from Mango.  Which one is your favorite?

and some runway looks

Animal Print:
Let me say, that I’m not a huge fan of bold animals prints.  However, I totally adore small subtle animal prints on scarves, ballet flats and delicate cardigans.  I’m planning on adding one piece of cardigan to my ever-growing wardrobe some time soon!

and some accessories...

Michael Kors Watch

Dolce & Gabbana Hat

Corduroy:
Yep. The corduroy is back... With chicest pieces. I absolutely love this look by, again Mango.

Metallics:

Metallics are everywhere this season. From metallic finished skinny jeans to metallic dresses, skirts, tops etc.  If you are looking for a more subtle metallic effect, then opt for accessories like metallic wowen belts and statement necklaces, collars.

Biker:

The biker trend is one of the most cool looks, in my opinion.  Especially, distressed leather boots and leather jackets are the key essential pieces to this look.  Try pairing flowing feminine pieces with these boots or with leather skinny pants and see the results!
