ROYAL COLLEGE OF ART MA GRADUATE FASHION SHOW 2013.
Today, as part of my internship for Hunger magazine, I attended the Royal College of Art MA Graduate fashion show so that I could do a write up for the website. I've gotta admit, the standard for graduates was set extremely high. There were some amazing, really intricate and creative looks that left me wowed. My favourite collection was by Camilla Woodman as her aesthetic complements my eye for fashion. She has created some awesome textural pieces including fur, metallics and more, keeping the garments classy and chic. Julia Thomas also exhibited her asymmetric footwear which was really interesting, and Heewon Park and Xiao Li were some of my other favourite graduates, showcasing beautiful knits and refreshing pastel colour palettes. These are some pictures I took - apologies for bad quality, they were done on my phone! Enjoy x

So It Goes
Those of you who follow me of Twitter and/or Instagram will probably have already gathered that my boyfriend's recently launched a new biannual magazine called So It Goes, and as it hits newstands today (hurray!), I thought it was about time I shared some of its beautiful editorials with you. Especially after Fashion Gone Rogue beat me to it to this morning (cue much over-excitement at my desk).
In Progress: Late 16th Century Doublet
Every once in awhile I go meandering off into other centuries. My love of costuming started with Elizabethan, and it is still a period I adore, though I seldom costume for it anymore (a pity, really). Of course, with Valhalla Renaissance Festival coming up, uh, next weekend, I realized I've been wearing the same thing for three years. I mean, I do *love* my red jacket, but isn't it time for something new?
So this meant, of course, started a new project just before moving house, and making something that looks rather similar to the jacket its meant to be replacing. Ah, whatever - it's an entirely stash-made project, and when I find decently-priced velvet ribbon I will trim to noodles out of this doublet, but for now, here's what's going on...
The pattern is a mash-up of several Janet Arnold Patterns of Fashion: The Cut and Construction of Clothes for Men and Women, C.1560-1620
examples, and the women's doublet bodice from The Tudor Tailor: Reconstructing Sixteenth-Century Dress
.
The fabric is a mystery "wool" -ish, probably acrylic, red and black stripe. I've interlined with cotton osnaburg, and lined with muslin.
The sleeves will be black velveteen, just plain shaped sleeves, though I'm temped to do some slashing or...something. The hanging sleeves, if I make it that far, will be lined in pinked taffeta, cannibalized from a soon-to-be-replaced ivory 18th century petticoat.

| Getting there - I have a blue kirtle and this yellow skirt to wear with it, though I would much prefer a black silk skirt at some point. |

80'S FEELIN'.
I just wanted to share some of my work from my first year of uni as I feel blogging is an important way to get your aesthetic out there. I am currently studying a fashion promotion course in London and throughout the first year we have tried and tested a range of different topics. Obviously the first years of uni aren't overly intense, so I have spent the year specialising in styling and undertaking testing shoots. Without having the power to pull in big labels from PR companies, having to make do with my own wardrobe and friends' clothes to style models and create a successful story has been tough, but I've tried the best I can. Next year I will be pushing the boat out and building a contact base with the industry so I am able to get hold of some amazing pieces to style and shoot with.
This is one of the fashion stories I styled and shot a long with my friend Charlotte. The inspiration came from merging 80's fashion with the idea of kaleidoscopes, optical illusions and symmetry. We aimed the shoot at Fiasco magazine. Enjoy.

Notes on NY
Hello all!! So, so, so sorry for neglecting my blog, hence you guys for over a month such a long time. It's just that my life has been so fast-moving with all sorts of new things happening. Firstly, I've resigned from my previous company and have started at a multi-national company two weeks ago, which I have been wanting for a while. My trip to beautiful NY and NYC are other sources of excitement and joy. So, combining all these, I just couldn't get my mind together and stop by here and share things with you guys. Hope you can forgive me :) Pleaaaseeee? :)
Herkese merhaba!
Me, looking super dead-tired and not so fashionable!

Me, feeding the chickadees :)

So, I landed to JFK after 11 hours of loooong and tiring flight. I mean, imagine a long flight without sleeping at all because of a crying baby and because of my annoying body clock :) My lovely aunts picked me up at the airport and we I started the day once again. Why am I saying that? Because it was 7.30 am when I got on the plane and it was around noon when I landed to JFK. So, that means at the end of the day in NYC, I haven't sleep that day for about at least 24 hours! Crazy, huh?
Going back to NYC; my aunts and I had a tight schedule for that day so we directly headed to Manhattan, around 5th ave and so on. Walked around like crazy. Did some shopping, had some extremely salty pretzels :) Then went to the Central Park, where I was stalked by a squirrel :) Yes, that little sucker was stalking me, because he didn't like the pretzel I gave him; I guess he was expecting his caviar and champagne like he usually(!) gets. Towards the end of the day I was pretty much dead considering the fact that I hadn't slept for a looong time; we decided to go back to Upstate. I slept in the car through the whole ride up there.
I won't go into many details of my trip but on the fourth day we went to the Niagara Falls at the Canadian side. It was amazing. The weather was gorgeous and everything was just awesome. We took the boat ride with the Maid of the Mist and got soaked-wet :)
Throughout my trip we visited many places in the Upstate NY (these visits are all family related). I had so much fun, had so many memorable moments that I'm now asking for your forgiveness for the time I've been away from my precious little blog, my mind being occupied with these beautiful memories :)
Me, feeding the chickadees :)
Thanks for reading! I will soon be updating this place regularly :) Thanks for your patience! :)
